One pilgrimage across two lands that could hardly be more different, and one faith that joins them: the Marian shrines and Baroque churches of Catholic Bavaria, and the towns and shorelines where the Gospel actually happened.

Through Bavaria

Munich opens the journey at the Frauenkirche and Marienplatz, before Altötting — Germany's most important Marian shrine, where pilgrims have come to the Chapel of Grace for five centuries. Oberammergau, the village that has staged its Passion Play since 1634, and Regensburg, a UNESCO World Heritage city whose cathedral stands above the Danube, complete the European half.

In the Holy Land

Jerusalem is entered from the Mount of Olives, down through Gethsemane to the Church of St Anne, along the Via Dolorosa to the Holy Sepulchre. Bethlehem and the Church of the Nativity follow, then Ein Karem, Nazareth and the Basilica of the Annunciation, and the Sea of Galilee — Cana, Capernaum, Tabgha, and a boat on the lake He taught from.

Travelling as a group

Daily Mass is arranged at the shrines and holy sites wherever possible, and a free day in Jerusalem leaves room to return to whichever place asked something of you the first time.
