Destinations
Italy, Sicily & Malta
Rome and the tomb of St Peter, Assisi and the hills that formed St Francis and St Clare, and the Mediterranean churches where St Paul came ashore. Italy is where the Church took its shape, and where its saints are still closest at hand.
Rome & the Vatican
St Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museums and the four papal basilicas, with a papal audience arranged whenever the calendar allows. Groups celebrate Mass at an altar within the basilicas rather than joining a public liturgy.
Assisi & the Hills of Umbria
The Basilica of St Francis, San Damiano and the Porziuncola, reached through hill towns that have changed little since the thirteenth century. Most groups find these the quietest and most prayerful days of the pilgrimage.
Sicily & Malta
Where St Paul was shipwrecked and where Greek, Norman and Arab Christianity met. Monreale, Syracuse and the grotto at Rabat make a natural extension to a Rome itinerary, or a pilgrimage of their own.
